How did the phrase find a job come into being?
Since the day man has been expelled via the Garden of Eden, he had to yoke himself with the burden of life on planet earth. He had to make use of what was trusted to him to reign most critters and his setting. To this end, we can confidently say that man has conquered the world .
In his ancient times, man had become the most skilful involving predators. He hunted like no beast can. He explored the land in forests and prairies, streams, lakes and the great sea. And his folks banqueted on his catch.
Those were both difficult and contented days. Existence was a simple matter of gratifying man’s most basic desires appease his being hungry and also thirst. Less basic needs followed. His brood needed something to protect themselves from the cold, rain and the sweltering heat of the sun. So he devised methods of covering his nakedness. But man found that it was not enough. Shelter was his next concern, for the same reasons he had to provide himself raiment.
Shortly, man spotted that there weren’t only needs but also wants for comfort, and later on even luxuries. It commenced with need and craving. Having learned that gratifying his needs and wants was good, man didn’t need to turn around. He became egocentric. He would have liked to own things, animals and even people to fulfill his needs. He learned how to devise methods to get more . That began the time of commerce and trade.
Trade and industry matured to higher and higher degrees of sophistication that it developed a life of its own. It needed things and other resources for its raw materials. It needed folks to occupy its many processes, from producing to selling, transporting and handling all its requirements. That’s the way the world is now. Trade, industry and commerce have now become a “monster” that man loves. We became its factotum. And we hunt the jobs that the monster offers.
Job search, though many will not admit it, is man’s obsession. He wants to do something for another in order to be in a position to get something in return, employees and bosses alike. So that to find a job has become man’s “ultimate goal”. It is the reason that explains why we educate ourselves. It’s the reason why we develop skills. And how to find a good job is the largest challenge to the new graduate whether from a formal college or university, or from an artisan guild.
In our modern world, in the era of computers and the Net, it’s become an easy task to get a job. But the critical questions are : “Do we meet the qualification necessities that these jobs demand?” Are we prepared to face the issues of these jobs?”
If you can properly answer these questions, then, you may very well be on the way to joining that stalwart band of champions able to conquer the “monster” and become its master, charting its course.
